Today, we had wonderful sunshine at the east-coast. After some bookings for future nights we start around noon a tour to nearby Bribie-island.
Here an overview of our area north of Brisbane:
And this is the way to Bribie island which is in fact linked to the mainland by a bridge.
Bribrie is the El Dorado for pensionists of Brisbane. All is directed to „Elder People“ .
There are even special taxis for transport of wheelchairs and wheeled walkers:
Annette is trying here a bench with stand-up asstistance:
For us, it’s a good opportunity for a first „hike“ – along the seafront promenade which is directed towards the mainland (to the west).
The path is perfectly prepared , goes over 2.5 km and is suitable for wheelchairs. You only have to look for electric wheelchairs which speed along the way.
There are lots of fishing people that get lots of Whitefish from the sea – and they clean them right on the beach. Pelicans and Ibises like it.
We take a nice coffee near the beach and stroll until the mangroves in the southern part of the island.
On our way back the first swimming:
Finally we still drive to the other side of the island which is towards the open sea (Pacific) – with quite high waves.
And in Bribie we visit again the well-known Aldi to buy another SIM card for Annette’s mobile. Her phone number now is:
+61 490 877 127
At the evening we had our dinner in the already know shopping center „Westcliff“. There are no really nice restaurants in the suburbs (or we didn’t find them).
