This morning, we thanked Janet and Leigh for their great hospitality and packed our stuff to return to our friends in North Adelaide.
First, we meet Janet again, who had to work in the morning and have a coffee in the modified train station of North Adelaide. A nice place, run by grandma, mother and doughter.
Subsequently, we go shopping – we want to cook this evening for Kerryn and John. We do sage noodles – and the ingrediences are not easy to get…
Wednesday, 15. November — Brighton and another visit to Jane
Unfortunately, the weather has turned over night and there is a strong, cold wind now, with some rain from time to time. Nevertheless, we want to go to Brighton, a southernly suburb of Adeaide at the beachfront. It’s a doubtful pleasure, and we had to warm-up with a coffee.
Then we visited Jane, who is bound to her bed another time. She enjoys the visit and the pictures in our blog – we took the computer with us.
In the evening, John prepares yummy tofu and chicken.
Thursday, 16. November – By tram to Glenelg and an evening at Anne & Tony’s in Belair
And here comes another picture of „freezing in Australia“: The Jetty of Glenelg, which is the best known beach for Adelaidians. A tramway goes from the city right to the jetty, the only in Adelaide. But using public transport in Adelaide is really a challenge: Adelaide Metro, the public transport company, does not provide a paper map of their bus lines, the one availabe in the internet is so tiny, that you could hardly see the actual tracks of the lines. And their are things like a F-Bus, which stops only for hop-on, not for hop-off….
At the end, everything’s going well, our lunch at Glenelg (Fish & Chips) is yummy and we are back in time..
We arrange to pick up Kerryn after work to go to Belair. That is another suburb, that lays already in the Adelaide Hills, a range that spreads easterly arround the city. That’s where Anne and her partner Tony have their house. Tony is a former broadcast journalist and retired some years ago, while Anne is still working. They have a wonderful garden. Annette is finally able to take some more picture of her beloved parrots, which come to the feeding place in Anne’s garden:
We had wonderful mexican dishes – tortilla to be filled with chicken, tomatoe and all the other things, Tony prepared. He even cared for mexican music.
The third try gives us a nice picture of the party…
Tomorrow, we want to go to Clare Vale with Kerryn and John to do some bike riding. We hope for better weather !!!!
