11. November – Saturday
That’s the shack of Janet and Leigh on York Peninsula, which winds arround the west of Spencer Gulf.
The little house is not luxury – but very handy with kitchen and bathroom. Here we stay over the weekend.
Saturday, we drive there and do a long walk along the beach side
Then we learn how to paddle on a standboard.
In the evening, Janet cooks a very yummy lasagne. Wendelin had a look on the Carnival-Opening at Cologne via internet…
12. November – Sunday
In the morning, Leigh arrived from Adelaide. He brings the boat of the two into water – and then we start hunting for carbs in the bay.
Annette does not like so much catching crabs. They are enticed into traps with a bait. You have to pull the traps very fast to the boat, otherwise the blue crabs will disappear, leaving the trap at the side. Regarding all animal-loving people, we restain from showing barbarous details. But who wants to eat them – has to catch them…
Together we catched 18 crabs…
…and they are very delicious. Annette enjoys…
13. November – Montag
Leigh had to drive back to Adelaide in the evening.
So we had to enjoy the crabs without him – but of course he took some with him also for Erin, the doughter of the two.
We test the kayaks in the morning and go for a swim in the wonderful clear but nevertheless slightly cold („refreshing“) water.
Then we drive also back to Janet and Leigh’s home.
We promised to do the cooking tonight and buy heaps of vegetables at Woolworth and four different sorts of sausages at the butcher.
We do „delikate Kartoffelpfanne mit Würstchen“ (delicate potatoe pan with sausages).
It’s a nice last evening at Janet and Leigh’s!
And here come the map for orientation:
