Today, we packed our stuff and drive from Brisbane to the south. Before we spend another two houres in one of the incredible Australian shopping malls. We bought some camping stuff and food for the next days.
We plan to camp in the Lamington NP.
But on arrival, the lady at the reception of Lodge and Campground speaks about a weather alert, that is aktive. A major thunderstorm is most likely expected for the late afternoon / evening. We dicided to camp in spite of the alert – but as we saw the campground, surrounded by big trees, we were in doubt – what, if one of the branches hits our tent?
We redecide and book a cabin in the Lodge – just in case…But we hope to prepare dinner outside – maybe after the storm?
We wait for the thunderstorm at the Lodge:
Here, it is jet far away…
…and we grab a coffee at the bar…
…but minute after minute, it gets worse.
Now, while writing, there is thunder and first lightning – but only a few drops…
PS: After twenty minutes more, the thunderstorm begins with reallly bad rain and even hail – we are happy not to stay in the tent…
